Our home on the Riviera

As luck would have it, we found a wonderful apartment in one of the most beautiful and famous villas in Beaulieu. It was the home of James Gordon Bennett, the playboy founder of The International Herald Tribune...and we found ourselves here totally by luck.

After we found ourselves in Beaulieu one day, we ventured into one of the real estate agencies and rattled off our list of requirements...belle epoque villa, sea view, close to the beach and town, parking...blah, blah, blah...and at a very low cost. We were quite surprised to hear that the agent thought she had something that would meet our requirements, so we went for a look. The closer we got and saw where we were going, the more i thought that she was taking us to a "trashy" place. But when we finally arrived and looked around i immediately said we'll take it.

As it turned out, we actually didn't move in until almost a year later, but we did and it has proven to be the amazing place we first dreamed of. And our landlady, Mme Lamy has made our stay even better by letting us become part of her wonderful family.

Personally for me, this has been an exceptional experience. Finally getting to live in France... on the Riviera and with Jane, the most wonderful woman that I could ever hope to call my partner.
